Professor Kaur is currently DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor, Panjab University (PU); Independent Director, Nectar Lifesciences Limited; Professor of Pharmaceutics, UIPS and Secretary, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Punjab Branch. She has held eminent positions viz. Chairperson, UIPS; Director, Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility, PU; Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Project Coordinator, UGC-Networking Resource Centre Program, UIPS. She is amongst top 2% most cited scientists across globe as promulgated by Stanford University, USA (2019-20 to 2022-23). Based on her contribution to the field of IPR,she was recently invited as “Special Guest to Government of India” on 75th Republic Day by O/o Controller General of Patents, Designs&Trademarks, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, DPIIT, GoI. Her research forte is enhancing bioperformance of drugs, plant extracts/phytochemicals and biomolecules viz. siRNA, proteins, peptides, and probiotics using active-tailored solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs), nano vesicles, and electrospun scaffolds as novel platform nanotechnologies. Emphasis of her work lies on Industrial&clinical translation&is reflected through licensing of 4 of her technologies to Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Dermaceutical Industry&19 granted patents (including one US) out of 33 filed applications.
She has delivered >75 Invited Talks and published around 155 articles with h-index of 53, 8 books, 4 journal volumes and >25 book chapters to her credit.
She is a US-Fulbright fellow (2017-18), & has received National Intellectual Property Award 2021 & 2022 for Top Indian Individual for Patents Filing, Grant & Commercialization; World Intellectual Property Organisation Medal for Inventors (2023), Best Pharmaceutical Scientist (Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India 2023 & Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India, 2018); Technology Awards (BIRAC Regional Innovation Centre 2019 & 2020, and many more. She has received funding for project and Beamtime Application at the ISIS facility – Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, 2017; 2023. She recently hosted a fellow under the Australia India Research Students Fellowship program at her lab.
