PhD Researcher
Philipps University of Marburg, Germany
Ahmed Somaida is a PhD researcher at the Institute of Pharmaceutics & Biopharmaceuticals at Philipps-Universität Marburg.
Before that, he earned his master's degree ''MSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology'' from The University of Greenwich, UK. His main research work was in
Assessment of Anthrax Toxin in targeted intracellular drug delivery in cancer treatment".
The Current interests in his PhD studies are discovering new targets for cancer treatment, drug delivery and enhancement of their efficacy using the nano-carriers system, which efficiently contributes to presenting novel drug delivery systems and valuable options for the targeted treatment based on Identifying and measuring the related root causes.
His expanding experience and research skills include Nano formulation & LNP preparation and characterization, Surface modification of particulate systems for drug targeting, antisense oligonucleotides & siRNA delivery and Cell-based therapy. Photodynamic therapy-aided chemotherapy and their combinations, Molecular Biology techniques, 2D cell Cultures, 3D tumor modeling & organoids development, Biodistribution and acute in vivo toxicity studies in rodents. In vivo modelling ( FELASA Function A&D). Different analytic techniques including Confocal laser scanning microscopy, immunofluorescence, and Atomic force microscopy are his major area of expertise
