PhD Candidate
Georgia Institute of Technology
Wenting Shi is a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, under the guidance of Prof. M.G. Finn. She has a strong academic foundation, holding dual Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from Virginia Tech, from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2020. Her doctoral research primarily focuses on the development of injectable hydrogel formulations that allow for fine-tuned nanoparticulate vaccine release profiles. This work harmoniously combines her interest in biomaterials and drug delivery, with an emphasis on the creation of long-acting injectables to counter a wide array of infectious diseases. Beyond academia, Wenting displays her entrepreneurial spirit as the co-founder of OZ-Link Technologies Inc., a biotech startup that aims to revolutionize the medical field with its modular drug delivery platform for the programmable release of protein therapeutics. Both the company and her research share a common goal of harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology to enhance the effectiveness of healthcare solutions.
