Mitra Azadeh is the Senior Director of Bioanalytical & Biomarker Development at Ultragenyx Pharma. In her current role she is responsible for bioanalytical strategy and execution in support of AAV gene therapy programs. Prior to Ultragenyx, she was the Director of Biomarker Operations in the Translational Medicine & Early Stage Clinical Development team at Alkermes and responsible for the design, development, and validation of Immunogenicity and biomarker assays as well as management of clinical, non-clinical and exploratory biomarker studies. Prior to Alkermes, she played a similar role in the Bioanalytical & Biomarker Development team at Shire and before that, in the Bioanalytical Sciences group at Allergan. She previously served as a Senior Principal Investigator at the Covance Immunochemistry division where she managed GLP/GCP bioanalytical studies for numerous pharmaceutical clients. Mitra has held positions in immunodiagnostic, CRO, and pharmaceutical organizations and has twenty years of experience in immunoassay, bioassay, cell-based, neutralizing antibody, immunogenicity and biomarker assay development and validation in a variety of platforms. She received her doctoral degree in Cellular Biology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
