Jeff Chen obtained his B.A. in Biochemistry from UC Berkeley and PhD in Molecular Biology from Sloan-Kettering Institute. Throughout his graduate study and postdoctoral fellowship, he investigated the role of defective DNA replication and repair in the onset of cancer using budding yeast or mammalian models. He started applying genomics approaches towards the end of his postdoc study and upon the completion of his fellowship, he started his foray into biotechnology where he subsequently optimized and automated various workflows of library prep for NGS on a microfluidic device. Since joining AstraZeneca, he utilizes proteomic (including Olink) and transcriptomic bioanalysis methods to support biomarker discovery or safety PD assessment for drug candidates in various stages of development.
